Salt Studios was born from a desire to bring photography back to something real - something that lasts beyond a fleeting moment on a screen.
Fraser James, an international commercial travel photographer and film director, has spent years capturing every corner of the world.
Yet, despite this dream career, the reality of commercial photography is that terabytes of images find themselves in the depths of hard drives - never to be seen again. The rare few that do make it out into the world are shared on social media and forgotten about a few seconds later.
Over time the images felt disposable, lost in an endless feed, rinsing and repeating.
​​Determined to change that, he created Salt Studios - a space where photography is made tangible again.

Through beautifully crafted prints and thoughtfully curated zines, Salt Studios transforms images into something physical, something to hold and something that tells a story.
Salt Studios is about preserving moments and places, sharing adventures through print, and creating work that stands the test of time.

​​​Fraser James is a London-based photographer and film director with over a decade of experience working internationally. Specialising in travel, adventure, and hospitality imagery, he has partnered with some of the world’s leading brands to create work that captures the soul of a place or moment.
